PAINTING LEAGUE: FROM SPRUE TO GLORY
A 10-month journey to create the best Warhammer 40K or Age of Sigmar painted army
Overview
Welcome to "From Sprue to Glory" - a 10-month painting league designed to encourage hobbyists to build and paint their Warhammer 40K / Age of Sigmar armies while competing for glory and prizes! This league rewards consistent effort, painting quality, and army cohesion.
Schedule
- Start Date: June 1st, 2025
- End Date: March 31st, 2026
- Duration: 10 months
- Midway Checkpoint: Month 5 (October 31st, 2025)
- Final Judging: End of Month 10 (March 31st, 2026)
Entry Requirements
- Entry is completely FREE
- The league is open to participants worldwide
- Participants must register by contacting us via WhatsApp to be added to the dedicated channel
- After being added, participants must introduce themselves and declare their chosen faction(s)
- Armies should aim to reach a minimum of 2,000 points by the end of the league
- All submissions and tracking will be done online via our WhatsApp channel
- Armies must follow standard game composition rules for matched play

Base-less Models Point System
For models without standard bases (vehicles in 40K, larger monsters/war machines in AoS):

Bonus Points
- Monthly Judge Points: 0-15 bonus points awarded by judges based on effort, improvement, and creativity
- Completed Unit Bonus: 2 bonus points for each fully completed unit (built, based, and painted)
- Named Models: +2 bonus points for named character models
- Conversion Work: 1-3 bonus points for creative conversions (judge's discretion)
- Referral Bonus: 5 bonus points for referring a new participant to the league (must be mentioned during registration)
- League Achievements: Throughout the league, special achievements will be announced that award extra points when completed. These will be communicated via the WhatsApp channel and posted on our Instagram.
Submission Process
1Before Working
Take clear photos of your models BEFORE working on them (on sprue to have the build points).
2Submit Initial Photos
Send the initial photos to the WhatsApp channel with your full name.
3After Completion
Take photos of your completed models after you've finished working on them.
4Submit Final Photos
Send the final photos to the WhatsApp channel with your full name and the points you've calculated according to the points system.
* The keyword will be communicated to all participants via the WhatsApp channel.
Monthly Tracking
- Points will be tallied and updated at the end of each month
- A leaderboard will be maintained on the WhatsApp channel and on social medias
- Monthly showcase of best painted models from submissions
Midway Checkpoint (Month 5)
At the halfway point, there will be a special prize for the participant leading in league points:
- Prize (most points accumulated): Warhammer Underworlds band: the Exiled Dead
Final Judging (Month 10)
At the conclusion of the league, three independent judges will evaluate the armies based on:
- Overall painting quality (30%)
- Army cohesion and theme (30%)
- Originality and creativity (30%)
- Technical difficulty (10%)
Final Submission Requirements
- Participants must submit between 5-10 high-quality photos of their completed army
- One photo must show the entire army together in a single shot
- Photos should be clear, well-lit, and showcase the army from various angles
- Final submissions must be sent by the deadline (March 31st, 2025)
Prizes
- 1st Place (Best Overall Army): Killteam band of the winner's choice (subject to availability)
- League Points Champion (most points accumulated): Killteam band of the winner's choice (subject to availability)
- All prizes must be collected at Ludik Hobby store
- Winners unable to collect in person must cover shipping costs
- Winners will be announced on WhatsApp and the store website
- Based on participation, prize pool might be increased
Important Notes
- All painting must be done by the participant
- Previously painted models are not eligible
- Previously built and based models ARE eligible if not painted (primer does not count as paint)
- Participants can use any legal Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar army list
- Questions and clarifications should be directed to the WhatsApp channel
- Judges will be the owners of the store who will maintain impartiality and objectivity throughout the competition
- Store owners acting as judges are not eligible to win any prizes
- Judges' decisions are final
- Participants may be disqualified at judges' discretion for rule violations or unsportsmanlike conduct
